HANDS OVER is an online multiplayer game for up to five players. That much is confirmed by the Steam store page, the demo page and multiple official announcements. The rest of the multiplayer picture — crossplay, local play, matchmaking, voice chat and console parity — is less complete.
This page keeps the confirmed parts separate from the open questions.

“Not announced” means exactly that. It is not proof that a feature is missing. It means ArtDock has not published enough information to confirm it.
Co-op and competition in the same session
The genre label is “5-player co-op horror,” but the win condition is competitive: players sabotage each other and the last one left wins. Steam lists both online co-op and online PvP.
The most accurate reading is:
- Co-op describes the shared session and the need to fill a table with other people.
- PvP describes the actual goal. Players are not working together against the device; they are working against each other.
That distinction matters when you are inviting friends. If your group expects a cooperative horror game where everyone survives, the table will feel hostile. If your group enjoys social deduction, bluffing and party-game betrayal, it is the intended experience.

Crossplay: still unconfirmed
HANDS OVER was announced for PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch. That does not confirm crossplay.
As of November 2, 2026:
- The PC Early Access version has a date.
- The console versions do not have a date.
- ArtDock has not published a crossplay statement.
- The demo is a Steam demo; no console demo has been announced.
A console version existing and a console version playing with PC are different claims. Without an official statement or a cross-platform test, crossplay is unconfirmed. This page will change when ArtDock addresses it.
Local play and solo mode
No local co-op, split-screen or solo mode has been announced. Steam lists online PvP and online co-op, not local multiplayer or single-player.
That means:
- You cannot assume two people can play on one PC.
- You cannot assume a solo practice mode exists.
- You cannot assume the game will fill empty seats with bots.
If any of those features are added, they will be documented here with a source.
How to find a group
ArtDock has repeatedly pointed players to its official Discord for matchmaking. The Steam community hub is the other official gathering place.
A practical approach:
- Join the ArtDock Discord.
- Post your region, platform and available time.
- Agree on voice chat outside the game if in-game voice is not available.
- Start with the demo before organizing a full Early Access session.
There is no confirmed in-game party finder, ranked mode or lobby browser. If the game has one, it has not been described publicly.
Console multiplayer
The console versions are announced, but their multiplayer feature set is not. We do not know:
- Whether they will have the same five-player limit.
- Whether they will support crossplay with PC.
- Whether they will launch during Early Access or later.
- Whether they will require a separate subscription for online play.
Those questions depend on platform certification and ArtDock’s release plan. No date has been announced.
What would change this page
This page will be updated when ArtDock publishes:
- A crossplay statement.
- Console release dates.
- Minimum player count or solo-mode details.
- Matchmaking, lobby or voice-chat documentation.
- Cross-progression details.
Until then, the safe planning assumption is: PC, online, up to five players, bring your own group.
